Karius confident Newcastle can fly high – waiting to win a new contract with the team.
Newcastle United’s German goalkeeper Loris Karius insists Newcastle United. There is no goal for how many places they will finish. But they will give their best to make the Premier League season a great season for the team.
The 29-year-old has signed a free transfer deal with Newcastle and marks the end of a season-long loan spell. He made his first appearance for an English club since the 2018 Champions League final, playing in Newcastle’s friendly against Saudi club Al Hilal. The Arabia ended with a 5-0 victory.
“I think we have no set limits on where we need to go. Because we didn’t define it. But of course we started this season very well. And I think we can be successful this season. We have a strong team. and there is a very high level of unity And that gives me a positive feeling about how the team works together and the performance that came out before the World Cup break.
Karius has signed a short contract until the end of 2022 and remains uncertain about his future. However, he is still confident that he will continue to be with the team.
“It’s quite a positive situation. We’re going to have a talk. And waiting to see what happens. Of course, I can see myself here longer than before. And I hope so with more playing time in the future. That’s my goal that keeps me working every day. And at the same time I support my other teammates. I think I have a good chance to continue with the team. But there must be a clear discussion first.”
Newcastle are third in the Premier League after 15 games, seven points behind league leaders Arsenal and playing one game more. They will return to their first game.
